With eleven cities within its jurisdiction, the GBLC has made relationship building with mayors a major priority. These powerful elected officials oversee collective bargaining for municipal workers, make economic development policy, and play a major role in public education, all major concerns of the GBLC and its affiliated unions. The GBLC schedules meetings on a regular basis with mayors in an effort to surface issues and to create resolve problems in private. These meetings have resulted in gaining the support of mayors on organizing drives and resolving issues at the bargaining table.
